Long flights can be a pain… but that doesn’t mean that they have to be. When making the trip to Paradise Koh Yao, the last thing that may be stopping you is a long flight. Don’t let the flight get in the way of visiting beautiful Koh Yao Noi, Thailand. We will give you some tips for making that flight more comfortable.
1. Stay Hydrated
This tip is not only for the flight, but for when you land into Thailand’s warm weather. Be sure to keep drinking water whilst on the plane, as the air during the flight will be quite dry which can be a big cause for discomfort on your journey. Even if this makes you need to use the toilet, getting up and stretching those legs is good for you too.
2. Dress Comfortably
Dress in Layers – be ready for the plane to get quite cold and be just as prepared when you need to ditch that jacket and get ready for the sun when you touch down. We recommend wearing loose and soft fabrics that wont be a pain when sitting on them for too long. Shoes that are easily put on and off are best as it is important to get up every now and then to stretch your legs.
3. Neck Pillows
Yes, they may look funny, you may have laughed when seeing people walk around with them on their neck, but they work! It makes the flight experience far more relaxing when you don’t have to keep moving around to find a spot big enough to rest your head. Avoid those stiff necks too.
4. Check the seating plan
When possible check the seating plan ahead of time. This will give you valuable information such as how much room you have. Although it is obvious that business will offer more room than economy, what many don’t know is that some seats may not have room to recline. Watch out for walls directly behind your row of seats.
5. Bring some entertainment
For those times that you wake up and don’t feel like watching the in flight movies, bring some of your own entertainment. This could be movies on a laptop, your iPad with all of your favourite games or a book. The good thing about bringing a book is that you will be able to finish it off in the comfort of a hammock on the beach here in Paradise @ Koh Yao.
6. Think about the SPA!
Nothing is better motivation than thinking about that amazing massage you will have when you arrive in Paradise. A massage is the best cure for a long flight and will help get the blood flowing nicely around your body, will remove all of the built up stress and will leave you feeling fresh and ready for your holiday in Paradise.
