Songkran is Thailand’s new Year’s Celebration which takes place annually on the 13th and 14th of April. A national holiday rich in tradition and Thai culture, as well as a bucket-load of fun in the more modern twist on the water pouring ritual. You may have seen images of thousands of people soaking each other in water, which are indeed true as the whole country takes part in a mass water fight. The tradition behind this comes from the cleansing of the Buddhist images and people by pouring blessed water over their head. This is seen to bring good fortune, pay respect and help to wash away sins.
These days the traditions have been turned into a large scale celebration across the whole country. In Paradise we pay homage to all of our traditions with traditional Thai food, a Buddha cleaning ritual and of course a big water fight for anyone who is keen to get involved.

Thank you very much for the amazing holiday. From the moment we arrived to the time we left we felt very welcome and loved everything about the Paradise Koh Yao. It took a little while to get used to the weather but it didn’t deter us from venturing out and about. Knowing we had amazing facilities and airconditioning to come back to was a real bonus. Your spa facilities were outstanding and the different activities were great to experience. We loved our quad bike ride with our friends to the local village. A lot of fun. Also enjoyed the batik painting. We made some great friends while we were here and it will be a holiday we won’t forget. Thank you so much for your attention to detail and your wonderful hospitality. Your staff are a credit to you and a wonderful taste of the Thai people and their culture.Leanne and Peter Thomson from Australia, Room 222

First we would like to thank you for the upgrade of the Jacuzzi to a Pool Plunge Deluxe Studio! The warm welcome at the PARADISE KOH YAO was just perfect.
The pre-booked transfer to the hotel was smooth and without any time of waiting. The arrival on the island was like in a dream: a refreshing towel, a cool drink and a charming check-in. Then they drove us with the golf cart to our room. The first impression of the resort was overwhelming and I felt comfortable right away. There is a king-size bed with shiny white sheets and a big window which offers you a stunning view over the beach and sea. A door leads to the balcony where the Jacuzzi is already bubbling and the shower invites to a cooling-down.
The studio offers everything you need: Minibar, TV, desk, plenty of stowage. But what makes it really unique is the furniture. It’s all built with natural material like Bamboo or rocks which perfectly matches. The service is fantastic – turndown service is just fabulous! Simply like in paradise!

The room was perfect for our honeymoon! These are my favourite:
– The panoramic view of nature and over the dreamlike resort through the big windows from the bed.
– The open shower room with tropical rain forest shower, standard shower head and “waterfall” shower off a big sea shell.
– The Jacuzzi on the patio with the stunning view.
Overall the facility and the room looks classy but still natural and lovingly chosen. Everything is perfect to feel good and comfortable.
